Towards Integrated
Food Systems

The way food is produced and distributed is under increasing pressure. At the same time, regions, sites and development strategies are expected to deliver more: greater resilience, better land use, stronger environmental performance and long-term economic value. Greengrounds was founded at this intersection.

We work where these questions take shape – where land is being developed, key decisions are made, and where food can become an integral part of how places function, grow and create value over time. Food is never just about production. Its role is shaped by how land, infrastructure, markets, governance and people connect.

Greengrounds helps clients define where food can play a meaningful role in a place, and what is required to make that role viable – from spatial integration and resource flows to partnerships, investment logic and implementation pathways.

Built from experience

Operational
knowledge

Building on deep operational expertise in productive food systems, rooted in the Priva Group, a global leader in horticulture, climate control and resource management. Our background provides a practical understanding of how modern production systems function in reality – the technologies involved, the resource flows they rely on, and the constraints that shape real outcomes.

Integrated
systems

Food does not create value in isolation. Its impact depends on how production connects to land use, logistics, energy, water, governance, skills and market access. Our works across these layers, shaping how they come together in ways that are coherent, practical and built to last.

Long-term
perspective

Across the world, food is increasingly part of decisions about land, resilience and development. We bring a long-term perspective to these questions, defining where food can contribute meaningfully – and where it cannot – so that ambition is matched with strategic clarity.

What guides our work

01

Resilient Communities

Food systems are shaped by the people who produce, plan, invest in and govern them. Greengrounds works with those shaping places on the ground - from farmers and entrepreneurs to planners, developers and public institutions - helping align ambition with the practical conditions needed for long-term relevance and implementation.
02

Viable systems

Food rarely succeeds as a standalone intervention. It works when production, infrastructure, logistics, knowledge and market access reinforce one another. Greengrounds helps bring these elements together in ways that are coherent, realistic, and both economically and ecologically viable.
03

Food as a Catalyst

In the right context, food can do more than provide supply. It can help shape land use, support regeneration, strengthen local identity and enable new forms of economic activity. Greengrounds works to identify where that potential is real, and how it can be translated into practice.
