Meiny Prins connects food, technology and development through long-term thinking on how places can become more resilient, productive and future-ready. As Executive Chair and co-owner of the Priva Group, she has spent decades working at the intersection of climate control, resource efficiency and the systems that shape food production and the built environment.

She was also the founder of the Sustainable Urban Delta Foundation, which brought early attention to the role of food in city-making and long-term urban resilience. Through that work, she helped open up a broader conversation about how food production, land use and development can be connected in more meaningful ways.

At Greengrounds, Meiny sets the strategic direction of the practice – bringing together sectors, ideas and partnerships to position food as a catalyst for resilience, regeneration and long-term value.

Thera Rohling brings strategic perspective and international context to Greengrounds’ work. With a background in Sinology and business administration, she combines long-term strategic thinking with deep experience in sustainable food production and cross-cultural collaboration.

Over more than a decade, she has worked on the development of food-producing cities and broader food resilience strategies, including through the Sustainable Urban Delta Foundation and projects such as the Singapore consortium behind the Lim Chu Kang masterplan. Her work has consistently focused on how food can move from policy ambition into long-term development strategies that are grounded in real conditions.

At Greengrounds, Thera contributes to the strategic development of the practice – identifying opportunities, building partnerships and helping position food as a meaningful part of resilience, development and long-term value.

Marinus Luiten brings strategy into practice through partnerships, projects and development. With a background in Future Planet Studies and Sustainable Business & Innovation, he works at the intersection of sustainability, entrepreneurship, and urban development. He has also been involved in initiatives such as the Sustainable Urban Delta Foundation, where he contributed to early work on food resilience and the role of food in long-term development.

At Greengrounds, Marinus works across strategy, partnerships and project development. His expertise in stakeholder engagement and systems thinking enables him to navigate complex environments and build strategic partnerships, particularly across the MENA region. He has led projects in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, applying spatial mapping and stakeholder analysis to advance food resilience and development strategies.

His work is driven by the belief that food systems can become more resilient, transparent and future-ready – and by the challenge of translating that ambition into real projects and long-term value.

Jan Westra is a specialist in food production systems, with decades of experience in horticulture, climate control and controlled-environment agriculture. With a background in mechanical engineering and a long career at Priva, he brings deep technical and operational knowledge of how productive food systems function in practice.

His work spans innovation, research collaboration and business development, with a particular focus on greenhouse systems, water treatment, automation and localized food production technologies. He has worked extensively with startups, universities and research institutes around the world.

At Greengrounds, Jan brings practical production knowledge to projects where food systems need to be realistic, efficient and grounded in operational conditions.

Wenqing Jin is a specialist in food systems modelling, combining agronomic expertise with economic and systems-based analysis. His work focuses on how production systems can be designed, assessed and optimized in different contexts, linking technologies such as greenhouses and vertical farming to spatial, resource and operational realities.

With a background in greenhouse horticulture, climate control and controlled environment agriculture, and experience in China’s horticultural sector, Wenqing brings a strong understanding of both technical system performance and the wider structures that determine whether a concept can succeed in practice.

At Greengrounds, Wenqing contributes modelling-based insight to projects where food production, resource use and system performance need to be translated into realistic scenarios, viable concepts and long-term strategic choices. He also contributes to farmer engagement, helping connect system concepts to the practical realities of growers and day-to-day operation.

Toni Fryer leads the architectural and spatial design work at Greengrounds. She focuses on translating strategic ideas into clear place-based concepts, with particular attention to how productive landscapes, climate-responsive design and development logic come together.

Her work bridges concept development and spatial resolution, helping shape projects where food is not treated as an add-on, but as the foundation of how land is used, experienced and valued. She brings a strong design sensibility to projects that require both vision and coherence across multiple disciplines.

At Greengrounds, Toni plays a central role in turning food, land and development strategies into spatial concepts that are compelling, grounded and relevant to the places they serve.
